Useful information and bylaws to help you enjoy a trip to Camber. More visitor information, including wildlife to look out for and a map of the area can be found in our leaflet Camber Sands and the Dunes.

Beach users
- Keep to the marked paths over the dunes – they are numbered to help you find your way around.
- Do not damage the plants, especially the roots as they help stabilise the sand and provide a habitat for wildlife.
- Leave all fences alone – they are vital for flood defence and help trap wind-blown sand.
- Take your litter home.
- Strictly no fires or camping on the dunes or beach.
- Barbecues are permitted on the beach but not on the dunes with permission in advance from Rother District Council. You must be responsible for a barbecue at all time.
- Wear suitable clothing – sun hats/cream during the summer and warm clothing during the winter.
- Check tide times on the BBC website as the as the sea travels out up to half a mile from the main beach. Be careful of incoming tide.
- Do not use inflatables when orange flags are flying.
- Do not swim when red flags are flying.
- This is not a nudist beach.
- Toilets are located at the main car parks.
- Disabled parking and facilities are available at the main central car park, which has the best access onto the beach area.

Motorised and powered crafts
Launch zones are located at Broomhill Sands, Rye Harbour and Pett Level.
Please obey seaside bylaws, do not exceed the speed limit and act responsibly. Listen to weather forecasts and check times of tides. Do not dry launch from the beach and please keep away from swimmers at all times.
Motor vehicles
Strictly no unauthorised motor vehicles (eg car, quad bikes, motorbikes) are permitted on the beach or dunes as they destroy valuable habitats.
