Filming at Camber Sands – further information

Further information about using Camber Sands as a film location.

Parking

  • A filming permit includes parking for one vehicle in the car parks or on the beach (vehicles taken onto the beach must be four-wheel drive). Additional vehicles can be paid for on the day.
  • Charges start at 70p per hour to a maximum of £5 per day.
  • There are no parking charges 1 October – 31 March.
  • The Camber car parks close at 8pm, 1 April – 30 September.

Beach

  • Four-wheel drive vehicles and quad bikes are allowed on to the beach with permission from the Coast Control Officer. All vehicles must be covered by Public Liability Insurance.
  • Animals may be taken on to the beach with permission from the Coast Control Officer.
  • Props such as fake firearms and weapons may taken on to the beach, but must be reported to the Coast Control officer and Sussex Police before filming.
  • Fires and barbecues are permitted with permission from the Coast Control Officer and by notifying Sussex Police. Please make sure you leave the beach clean and tidy.
  • A beach cleaning service can be arranged. Please contact the Coast Control Office.
  • There are no beach lifeguards at Camber. The nearest local authorities to employ lifeguards are Hastings Borough Council and Shepway District Council.
