Filming at Camber Sands

Camber Sands is popular with film-makers because the landscape is dramatic and easy to use for short periods of time. This information on this page applies to Camber Sands and the dunes, as well as Winchelsea beach. You can also find out more on our Visitor information page.

Much of the income raised from filming at Camber Sands is reinvested into the conservation of the dunes.

Filming is managed in partnership between Rother District Council and East Sussex County Council. Fixed charges apply for filming or stills.

If you are interested in commercial filming or still photography at Camber Sands, you will need to:

  • apply for a permit
  • tell us when you would like to visit
  • pay a fee
  • show proof of public liability insurance.
