How to become a teacher
If you’re thinking of teaching as a career, visit the TDA website (the Training and Development Agency for Schools). You’ll find everything you need to know including a guide to the different routes into teaching – either school-based training schemes, or through universities and colleges. The site includes a useful summary of the different types of course you can take.
All training routes lead to qualified teacher status (QTS), which you will need if you want to teach in state-maintained schools.
