  • support your child at home, playgroups and pre-schools, and in their first days at mainstream school
  • provide training to you the parent or carer and to pre-school and playgroup staff.

For more information on the support available visit our page on Special educational needs in early years.

If you would like advice or have any questions you can contact the Early Years Teaching Support Service.

Moving into East Sussex

If you are planning on moving to East Sussex and your child has a statement of special educational needs or is undergoing statutory assessment then you should contact the Special Educational Needs (SEN) team.

Until you move, the body responsible for your child's statement or statutory assessment is your current Children's Services Authority (CSA). However, we can answer any queries you have and help to ensure that your child's needs are met once they have arrived in East Sussex.
