White House Primary School

White House Primary School in Hailsham has moved into a brand new purpose-built school.

The school moved from its previous site in North Street, Hailsham, to a new building behind the leisure centre on Marshfoot Lane. Building work on the new school began in March 2007 and was completed in April 2008.

Funding the new school

The whole scheme was being funded by Tesco as part of an agreement reached with East Sussex County Council in 2003. Tesco is building a new store on the site which included the previous White House School, and agreed to fund the building works.

Planning permission

Planning permission has been in place since 2004. Tesco’s own planning application was approved towards the end of 2006.
