14–19 education
When you turn 14, you could take up one of the new range of Diplomas or carry on with GCSEs. Once you turn 16 you’ll need to think about your options, such as staying in full-time education or training while you earn with work-based learning.
Whatever your situation, you’ll find plenty of help and advice.
The ‘September Guarantee’
We know that people who stay on in learning have better life chances, earn more and enjoy work more.
And now, if you’re aged 16 or 17 and about to leave school or finish a college course, the new ‘September Guarantee’ promises help in deciding what to do next, and an offer of a place on a course to suit you.
Recent changes in schools for September include 14–19 Diplomas and a rise in the school leaving age. Find out more about Changes in schools from September 2008.
