Bands, orchestra, choirs and ensembles for young people

Latest: If you are 11–18 years old and love singing, apply to join our new singing group East Sussex Young Voices.

East Sussex Brass Band
If you are 14 years old or older, and have grade 5 or above for a brass instrument, you can apply to join the band.
East Sussex String Chamber Orchestra
If you can play a stringed instrument to grade 6 or above, and you are aged 14 or over, you can apply to join this orchestra.
East Sussex Young Voices
If you are 11–18 years old and love singing, you can apply to join this county group of singers.
East Sussex Youth Orchestra
This orchestra meets twice a year. Entry is by audition only, you must be aged 16 or older and have achieved grade 6 in your chosen instrument.
South Downs Percussion Ensemble
If you play drum kit or percussion, and have achieved grade 6 or above, you can apply to join this ensemble. Rehearsals take place on Friday evenings in Lewes.
South Downs Youth Concert Band
This band includes woodwind, brass and percussion instruments and rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings in Lewes. Apply if you have reached grade 5 or above.
South Downs Youth Orchestra
This orchestra rehearse every Friday evening in Lewes during term time. If you play a woodwind, stringed, brass or percussion instument, and have acheived grade 5 or above, you can apply to join.
