Basic skills

Where do I start?

Basic Skills courses cover computing, reading, writing and maths.

  • They are free.
  • You can work at your own pace in a small group, day or evening.
  • Some courses provide a creche.
  • You can choose to work for a certificate.

To find out about courses near you, just call the Basic Skills coordinator at your local community college.

If you're working towards your first qualification you could qualify for the adult learning grant.
