Where to take adult education courses

You can take an adult education course at colleges, libraries and other venues around the county and at times to suit your needs – during the day, evenings and on Saturdays.

Visit the websites below to find out more about each location and to ask for a course brochure.

Community colleges

Community colleges are secondary schools that provide extra services, such as adult learning classes for all levels.

Further education colleges

FE colleges are for people aged 16 or over. They offer AS and A levels, diplomas, apprenticeships and other vocational courses.

Higher education

You can study for a degree at colleges and universities in East Sussex, or join the Open University if you want to study on your own, at home or wherever suits you.

Other adult education providers

Anyone can take a Learndirect course at your local library, and families with children under five can do short courses at some of our children's centres.

More places to take adult education courses are listed on our East Sussex Community Information Service (ESCIS).
