Our office is in Eastbourne. You can contact us by email, phone, letter, fax or in person.

We are open Monday to Thursday from 8.30am to 5pm, and on Fridays from 8.30am to 4.30pm.

Local business advice and support

Our duty officers cover animal health, business support network, Buy With Confidence and Support With Confidence approved trader schemes, licences for explosives, firework sales and poisons, and reporting underage sales. To contact us and apply for services, see:

If you have any special needs, please let us know how we could make contacting us as easy as possible for you.

Our Eastbourne office has:

  • private rooms so that you can speak to an officer confidentially in total privacy and confidence
  • full wheelchair access
  • hearing induction loop
  • free parking for disabled persons – please contact us in advance to reserve a place
  • access to translation services – please contact us in advance so that we can plan your contact.

We are sensitive to ethnic and cultural needs and will respond to any reasonable request.

Visiting you at home

If you are unable to contact us by the usual methods, we can make an appointment to visit vulnerable people in your home.

Our service standards

We aim to provide excellent customer service, and follow the County Council's Customer care charter.

This means that your contact will be responded to within five working days, and you will be given a full response to your enquiry within 10 working days – much earlier if possible.

We will always be polite, curious and provide you with a written response by way of confirmation, if requested.
