Where are marriages and ceremonies held?

A wedding or civil partnership ceremony will be one of the most special and memorable days of your life. It’s also a very personal event, and every couple has a different idea of their ‘perfect’ day.

Marriages can only take place in authorised premises that have been approved by the local authority. The choice of places to hold ceremonies in East Sussex is vast and varied, with countryside, seaside or historic locations, and even a working steam railway.

Alternatively, you can exchange vows at one of our four register offices.

In exceptional circumstances, it is possible to get married at home or in hospital.
