Who can get married in England and Wales?
Bridesmaids. Picture by Jon Firth.
If neither you nor your partner live in England or Wales you can still get married here.
Please contact the superintendent registrar for the district in which you intend to marry. You will need to tell them where you wish to marry, and the address or district where you will be staying.
They can advise you on when and where to give your notice of marriage. This will depend on whether or not you will both be able to visit England or Wales during the year before the wedding, or if you will only be able to make one visit at the time of your wedding.
A provisional booking can be held for you until you are able to give your notices so that you can make all your arrangements. Find contact details for registration offices.
