Opening hours
The core opening hours are 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday, and on Saturdays for weddings.
Please contact the office to make an appointment before your visit.
Directions
The register office is situated on the ground floor of the Town Hall at the top of Grove Road.
Parking
There is no car park available at the register office. On-street metered parking may be available nearby. The nearest town centre car park is the railway station car park, which has designated disabled spaces.
Ceremony rooms
As well as the Superintendent Registrar's office for small ceremonies, there are three ceremony rooms:
- The Mayors' Reception Room – maximum 30 guests, mainly standing
- The Court Room – seats up to 60 guests and can accommodate up to 100
- The Council Chamber – seats up to 60 guests
