Photography competition 2010

LATEST: Our competition has closed, but you can still win a £50 book voucher in the RIBA South East photography competition. There's a new theme every month. For details contact Jenny Peterson on 01825 515715 or visit the RIBA South/South East Flickr page.

The theme this year was Hidden Landscapes and was judged by prize-winning photographer Robin Friend and Hilary Lane, our Cultural Strategy Manager.

Robin writes: 'I was impressed by the diverse styles and unusual ways in which the theme was interpreted. There was a very strong standard of entries; images which really stood out for me were those which created a mood and left space for the viewer to project their own ideas and thoughts into them.

These were the images which transported us somewhere and left us with a lasting impression and a feeling that we could go on enjoying the image. Good art can be felt, and always has something the viewer knows is there but can't quite pinpoint or articulate. It's a world within a world.'

This year's winners are:

16 years and over

11 to 15 years

Under 11 years

All entries received to the competition can be viewed on Flickr.

The County Council helps to promote East Sussex as a place where arts and culture, including our natural heritage are valued and enjoyed. The annual photography competition is a way of celebrating our surroundings and the creativity of our communities.
