Interreg European funding 2007–2013
Interreg (from inter-regional) is funding made available by the European Union for cooperation between organisations in other European Member states. Its aims include promoting harmonious economic and social development through the sharing of knowledge and experience.
Interreg funding has three strands:
- The A Strand, which funds cooperation between land and sea-based border areas in the European Union.
- The B Strand, which funds trans-national cooperation between wider groups of European regions.
- The C Strand, which funds the sharing of knowledge and experience between regions across the whole of the EU.
We are currently in the fourth phase of Interreg funding (hence Interreg IV), and East Sussex particularly falls within the A strand (hence IVA).
To find out more about the scheme, see Interreg IVA.
