Working together to tackle crime

East Sussex Safer Communities Partnership

Local agencies are working together to reduce crime, antisocial behaviour and substance misuse. The partnership brings together representatives from:

  • local councils
  • health and care services, including primary care trusts
  • fire service
  • police
  • probation service
  • prosecution and courts services
  • local Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CDRPs).

East Sussex Community Safety Agreement

After looking at crime and disorder issues around East Sussex, we've developed a plan which describes how we will all work together to tackle crime and the fear of crime.

Our priorities are:

  • reducing anti-social behaviour
  • preventing young people from committing crime
  • preventing and reducing violent crime
  • reducing the number of adults who continue to break the law
  • improving your road safety
  • reducing hate crime and encouraging people to report incidents of hate crime
  • reducing the harm caused by drugs
  • reducing the harm caused by alcohol
  • improving the way we communicate with residents of East Sussex and asking them what they think of our plans.

The strategies for tackling crime in each area are available on the district and borough websites:
