What is a hate incident?

A hate incident is any incident perceived by the victim, or any other person, to be motivated by prejudice or hate.

This includes discrimination against a person's race, sexuality, gender identity or disability. It can include criminal offences.

How to report a hate incident

Individuals and agencies should use the form below to report a hate incident if:

  • you are the victim
  • you have witnessed an incident
  • you know someone who was the victim of an incident.

What happens next
