Child performance licence application

Any child of school age (up to and including Year 11) who is involved in a performance must have a licence if:

  • they have to miss school
  • they perform more than three days in any six month period.

There are very few exceptions when a performance licence is not needed. Except for dance schools, performances arranged by a school do not require a performance licence for children taking part.

The performance producer is responsible for applying for a child’s performance licence. The child’s parent or carer also needs to fill in and sign a section of the form.

The completed application form must be returned with all the necessary documents stated in the guidance notes, at least 21 days before the first day of the performance. Providing we have all the necessary information and documents for the child, we will issue the licence within these 21 days.
