Child Employment - notification by employer
If you employ a child under 16 you must complete this notification form within four days of the child starting work. The parent or carer of the child must also sign a section of the form to confirm that they are happy for the child to work. It must then be returned to the Child Employment Officer.
The Child Employment Officer will contact you within 10 working days of receiving the form to confirm whether the child is legally able to work. If they are able to work you will receive a work permit for the child, which they should keep.
