The new coalition Government has announced that it will not be continuing with ContactPoint, the online directory of all children in England, and instead plans to develop other ways of keeping vulnerable children safe.
The Department for Education is looking at ways to make best use of the developments made during the ContactPoint programme, and continues to support the use of the Common Assessment Framework.
In East Sussex, we will continue to use and improve the Children Index – the county-wide register of children, as the main tool for helping the people who work with children to work more effectively with each other.
