Parent Link helpline – education and school admissions
Parent Link provides advice and support to parents and carers on all kinds of issues relating to their child’s education, including school admissions, learning and behavioural difficulties, and bullying.
Help from the Family Support Team
We can help with a whole range of problems – from daily household budgeting, finding parenting groups, practical help in the home or arranging counselling for you, your children, or the family as a whole.
KITES Family Information Service
Call or email, six days a week. KITES can give you advice on every aspect of childcare, including parenting and support groups and explaining the options.
Our Safe Parenting handbook
Helps you find your way through what can be a maze of issues and advice. It includes contacts and further information you can follow up when you are deciding how to deal with your worries and difficulties.
Family support in extended schools
An extended school provides a range of extra services to children, young people and the local community. They work closely with other local organisations and schools.
Youth offending – help for parents
Contact the Youth Offending Team for advice if your child is in trouble with the law. We bring together children's services, the Police, the probation service, the NHS and the voluntary sector.
COPES – help for parents in rural East Sussex
If you’re going through a difficult time bringing up your children, of whatever age, COPES, a local charity project, can help. COPES covers the eastern half of the county, especially some of the more isolated and rural locations.
Home-Start – help for parents with children under five
If you’ve got children under five, and are finding things hard to manage, you could ask Home-Start for help. Volunteers visit you in your home and can offer emotional and practical support.
