Application form to join the Support With Confidence scheme

From cooking or cleaning, helping with shopping or bathing, to odd jobs or taxi services – providers and Personal Assistants who offer care or support at a client's home or in the community can now apply for approved status as a member of the Support With Confidence scheme.

Support With Confidence launched in October 2010, and residents can search a growing database of approved members.

The application process

Simply complete the application form and post it to us with your supporting documents.

We'll take it from there. We will:

  • make the necessary checks on your background and any criminal records
  • request references
  • register you with the ISA (the Independent Safeguarding Authority) when launched
  • arrange to meet you and discuss your application
  • register you with the scheme – subject to your undertaking our training and satisfying the application process.

Application fees to join Support With Confidence

These fees include VAT at 20% from Tuesday 4 January 2011.

  • Personal Assistants (including assistants who don't offer personal care) – free of charge.
  • Individuals or businesses with 1 to 5 employees – £51.06
  • Businesses with 6 to 20 employees – £102.13
  • Businesses with 21 or more employees – £255.32
  • Voluntary organisations with turnover under £100,000 – free
  • Voluntary organisations with turnover of £100,000 to £500,000 – £102.13
  • Voluntary organisations with turnover of over £500,000 – £255.32

Save money with dual membership – Support With Confidence and Buy With Confidence

'Buy with Confidence' (BwC) is a similar scheme for other types of business. If you want to join both schemes you will need to pay both fees – but the normal £100 application fee for BwC will not apply.

Guidance notes

You will need to include copies of supporting documents to verify some of the information requested, according to the sections you need to complete.

The application process is open for a period of 12 months on receipt of your application form and fee. If your application takes longer than 12 months you may be subject to an additional membership fee.

Terms and conditions are included in this form, and you will need to agree to comply with the Code of Conduct.
