Approved supplier lists

The Council has two types of approved supplier lists, select lists and framework agreements.

Select lists

Select lists are used by the Council to hold details of companies that have passed a pre-qualification process to bid for a specific type of services or works. Suppliers on a select list may be offered opportunities from time to time to quote or tender for work against other companies on the select list. They are generally advertised and established every five years.

We have select lists for the following:

  • Adult Social Care Department – older people's care services
  • Childrens Services Department – early years training providers
  • Corporate Resources Directorate – building maintenance (please note that we require our contractors to supply all building materials and equipment and therefore do not purchase these ourselves)
  • Transport and Environment – highways and bridge construction, and taxi and bus service suppliers.

To view all of the above, please go to our Select lists and framework agreements – downloads page.

Framework agreements

Framework agreements are used by the Council to appoint small numbers of suppliers that have been through a full competitive tender process to supply specific types of goods, services or works. Suppliers under these agreements can expect to receive call-off work and be invited to quote or tender for work against other companies on the framework. They are generally advertised and tendered every four years.

We have framework agreements for the following:

  • Childrens Services Department – fostering services
  • Corporate Resources Directorate – building design and maintenance consultancy (please note that we require our contractors to supply all building materials and equipment and therefore do not purchase these ourselves).

Please note that select lists and framework agreements are for internal Council use only and not linked to the Buy With Confidence scheme, which is an approved trader scheme run by Trading Standards for general public use.
